Seminar – Research in violin-making: technology and violin-making techniques

WHERE: Area Workshop
WHEN: 29th september | 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

Over the years, science has been approaching string instruments with a too small reference to violin-making knowledge. However, it is very important to carry out study focusing on violin-making and contributing to its development. The violin making know-how is a fundamental element to address violin-makers’ needs and function as a very useful technology for an instrument-making workshop. Research institutes are therefore to be listened to and it is important to share their study course. This event will shape the ideal environment for the protagonists of the violin-making sector to exchange ideas and expertise and to define the necessary conditions to recognize violin-making as aesthetic activity that needs research.
